Scenic Colorado locations and local wildlife.  Bighorn sheep can be seen lounging along the rocks in the mountains.  Hikers must keep a watchful eye out for mountain lions while enjoying the mountain vistas and trails.   Eagles nest in inner city urban parks and are protected from bothersome humans but are well within zoom range of a filmmakers camera. Elk roam free, even onto your set during a tight shooting schedule!

About Us

This independent film festival was started in 1993 to help the true independent filmmaker find a platform and to network with other filmmakers, writers, producers, and distributors.  This International Independent Film Festival is the only film festival in the world that showcases and promotes a film director’s work year after year for free.

The festival in 2003 started a travel showcase for the independent filmmaker.  This film festival has an international jury to judge the films that are in competition.

The competition is open to short films, feature films, narrative, documentary, and animation.

Davon E. Johnson, the festival director, is 40 years old.  He produces, writes, acts, and lives in Denver, Colorado.  He has directed numerous films and has two feature films under his belt.  He is currently working on his fifth narrative short film and his first music video.

Davon started his production company in 1989 and also directed his first film that year.  Three of his films have aired on PBS television.  He has won numerous awards in film festivals in the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Davon is the producer of two film festivals that are held in Denver each year.  Adam Langer, who authored a major film festival guide cites the Denver International World Cinema Independent Fall Film Festival as the place to be which is held in the early fall.

Davon has high hopes for his three new films, Colour Blind, Murder.com, and Portrait of a Soul.  He has started directing TV commercials for designer Ken Smoots for the fashion house of Urban Jungle Fashions and Worldwide Mortgage.  He hopes his latest films will create opportunities for him.

Congratulations to Yasnav Productions and Davon E. Johnson FilmworksProduction who secures a distribution deal for their film “Colour Blind”. Davon won the Golden Bean Award for outstanding director in Feature Film at Gaffers Film Festival in 2003. Davon is a for hire Film Director, Producer and Writer.
